New York Photo Festival
The New York photo festival's main focus involves looking at art photography and social documentary. The festival was originally founded by Daniel Power in 2008.Previous themes include:
2011- Photography Now: engaged, personal and vital.
2012- Matrix of art photography and social documentary
The 2013 theme for the festival will be Devastation, Document, Drive.
It's main focus it to look at capturing the terrible events that have occurred in the country. An example being the devastation of storm Sandy and how the country is trying to restore and rebuild their environment.
The exhibition aims to put a concentration on awareness after the tragedy, with a hope that the images exhibited, when seen will stimulate public consciousness.
The 2013 theme has a concentration on the experiences of America. Capturing the events that have occured over the past year, using the fresh pain to stimulate a heightened reaction from viewers.
